Client: Port of San Francisco

Description
The primary scope involved furnishing & installing air vents, for each of the four large 48” outfall pipelines running from the North Point Wet Weather facility, beneath pier 33 & 35, discharging treated storm water during periods of heavy rainfall.

The work underneath the pier structure used a combination of scaffolding & floating platforms to install the 16” epoxy coated ductile iron vent pipes. As flange to flange connections were required each section of pipe was custom fabricated, then capped and floated into position, before being hoisted up & bolted into place. Large epoxy coated supports were anchored to the pier deck using duplex stainless steel (marine grade) anchors, designed to withstand the highly corrosive salt water.
