Project Overview:

This project involved the installation of 5,000LF of groundwater 8" and 12" ductile iron piping in Golden Gate Park to support two new well pump stations, providing a sustainable water source for the Sunset District.

Work included pump station piping and equipment, cathodic protection, and surface restoration throughout the park.

Strategic Approach:

Utility Installation & Pump Station Integration:

  • Installed supply piping from each well to a centralized city-designated connection point.

  • Completed well pump equipment and pipework installation with attention to long-term durability.

Cathodic Protection & Environmental Considerations:

  • Implemented cathodic protection systems to preserve underground infrastructure.

  • Restored park surfaces to maintain aesthetics and public access.

Traffic Control & Utility Coordination:

  • Navigated strict traffic control measures and limited working hours to reduce public disruption.

  • Identified and maneuvered around numerous unknown and unmarked utilities beneath the park.
