Project Overview:
This project involved the replacement of an aging sewer main on the steep slope of Telegraph Hill, home to San Francisco’s historic Coit Tower.
The scope included the installation of a new 10” ductile iron pipe (DIP) sewer line on the nearly vertical face of the hill, requiring a highly specialized approach.

Sewer Main Replacement & Bypass Setup:

Carefully dismantled the existing sewer system while maintaining full functionality.

Installed a temporary bypass to ensure uninterrupted service during construction.

Vertical Installation & Access Challenges:

Tackled the rare challenge of vertical sewer line installation on a steep hillside.

Developed custom rigging and access methods to safely work on the slope.
